When I realized that I wanted to teach and that I wanted to start doing this while living in Colorado, I knew there would be some hurdles to jump through. But I took the bull by the horns and, first things first, I needed to get a Colorado license. So when I came out here for the Christmas party, I took that Thursday afternoon to take care of that. The equivalent of the DMV told me that my temporary license was valid for 30 days and that I should give them that long to get my real license to me. Take note that they also said that it normally only takes about 10 days. This was great. John could bring my real license with him to Florida for the bowl game. Ha. Not so. My temporary expired without me having a real license. so I woke up Monday morning, drove the half hour to where I needed to go to talk to them about it, only to find out that the USPS said that it was undeliverable to my address. What?! Undeliverable. That was crazy. It was my exact address. Nothing wrong with it. Tuesday rolled around and I called the Department of Revenue, where my license was being held, to see if I could pick it up from them rather than having to wait a week, with an expired license and when I needed to have a valid one, for it to make its way back to the original "DMV" I had gone to. Of course. It's just another half an hour drive when they should have delivered it to me.....
So this morning I went and picked up my Colorado license. I can now check one thing off the list to me getting a job that I'm excited about. Not to mention that I don't have sit there and watch someone bend my NC license in half to make sure it isn't fake when I order something to drink.
