Unfortunately I don't have a picture for today. However, today is the day that I get to go home. I slept in, finished packing, and hauled by luggage down the road. I really wish that I had a picture of this but I don't, so let me paint the picture for you.
It is cold, cloudy, and dreary in Boston and it seems like it's been that way for weeks. It's kind of depressing. But not today. Because I was on my way home. So I packed as much stuff as I could to go ahead and take home. When I moved up here the car was packed to the brim. I haven't shopped much up here, but I have done a little, so I knew I needed to try and take as much extra stuff home as I could. I packed up one very large bag the check (thank you to JetBlue for one free checked bag) and put fragile things (coffee pot, Halloween decorations, etc.) in my carry on. However, I also had my laptop case and purse to carry as well. So picture me in a dress and cute (low) heeled shoes. Dragging two rolling suitcases, my laptop, and purse, down and uneven road. It was pathetic. I had about 4 blocks to go before I was on the main street where I figured I would hail a cab. There was no way that I was going to be able to manage all of my stuff on the subway. It just wasn't going to happen. So I turned the corner off of my street and onto the one leading to Comm Ave where all the taxis are. As I'm walking down the road I was just praying that a cab would drive by me and let me get in. Next thing I know, I'm almost a block away from Comm Ave and a cab drives through the intersection right in front of me. He had to have seen this pitiful me walking down the road, or have heard me yell "TAXI!!!!", because he quickly hit the brakes, put the car in reverse and came and got me. Hallelujah.
But I made it back home safe and sound. And boy is it absolutely wonderful to be home. I have missed it so much.
