Christmas in July August.
Mom has been on a crafty kick lately, well, her thoughts have been leaning that way. Our latest project has been to make felt Christmas ornaments. Partly because they are have the potential to be cute and partly to get rid of the felt that we've had for who knows how many years.
The evidence:
What an assortment of things. Obviously there's felt. Then some crazy sequined fabric that was used probably when I was in early middle school for a ridiculous costume for the State 4H Horse Show in Raleigh. Some ribbon, lace, twine, and an odd blob of black curly hair and a pirate looking bag. The bag was also from a costume class at a horse show, where my sister and our horse dressed as Nags Head. If you don't know the story and you are from NC, click on the provided link, you should know this.
The three ornaments in the foreground are the products of our labor. From left to right they are my sister's, mine, and my mom's. Nothing like a little bit of simple crafts to take you back to a time where you didn't need to have everything figured out. Plus, it kind of helped get me in the mood for some cooler weather, and Lord knows I'm going to need to keep that enthusiasm up if I'm going to make it through the cold frigid weather facing me in Boston.
