Day Six

Today's picture is delicious.  I spent this afternoon making all of this fresh.. .and experiencing the effects of chopping jalapenos without gloves on.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, be warned.  If you don't protect your hands from the oil in the jalapenos, you will spend hours in painful agony and there is nothing that will provide significant relief.  Sure, I sat with my hand in a bowl of whole milk for a while, but in the end it just doesn't make it go away.  Per online advice, I also tried vinegar, which helped some, and running my hand under hot water to open up the pores and let the oil out.  Do not, I repeat, do not do this under any circumstance.  You will experience a sensation that feels like your hand has been dipped saturated in gasoline and then caught on fire.  Not fun.  Bonus: your hand will hurt so bad even at the best moment that you don't have to do this dishes because if you stick your hand in any kind of water other than ice cold and if you pick anything up, you just might faint.

But the dinner was worth it.  Tequila-lime chicken with melted fresh Monterrey jack cheese and topped with fresh pico de gallo, fresh pinto beans, guacamole, and Mexican rice.  Yumm.  Thank you Pioneer Woman.
