Today's picture comes from a celebration for my friend, Jessica. Her bridal shower was tonight in Summerfield. There's the dish I got her. I loved it. Too bad there was only one. She is such an awesome woman and she and her soon-to-be husband will live such a happy, fun filled life together. It was so wonderful to sit back, catch up with an old friend from high school, and watch Jess open wonderful presents and celebrate the beginning of the next chapter in her and Joe's lives. Love you, Jess.
On a side note, I had my first real experience with a sewing machine today. My mom hates despises sewing, so any time that we wanted to do anything with sewing as kids, we would get a needle and thread and had stitch. We never finished anything and nothing ever looked good. However, today I found 2 pillows that were originally price at $40 for the two of them for only $7.99! I had fabric that I bought when I purchased the fabric for my headboard. This fabric had been sitting upstairs waiting to be made into pillow covers. So today, I started. All the measuring and cutting and pinning. I hate pinning. Turns out that I have a tendency to get the thread messed up in the bobbin but that goodness my dad took a class in high school called Bachelor Living where they taught them all about sewing machines! He has even made a down coat and a down vest. My dad truly is the best all-around guy. He does it all. I'm going to miss my daddy, but I'll be home soon.
