Day 76

Wow.  It's November.  I can't believe it.  It's an overcast afternoon in Boston.  A little on the chilly side, too.  And windy.  But that's no surprise to anyone who has spent time up here.  I wanted to go to a cafe in downtown today and just get a few little things tied up and people watch and relax.  Well, I made it to a cafe but the location of the cafe quickly changed as I walked to the T stop and realized how chilly it is.  But man am I glad.  I ran into Megan on my way and she told me to just go to Blue State Cafe.  It's a little hole-in-the-wall place but it's only about 3 blocks down Comm Ave. from where the T stop is.  Oh this place is wonderful.  Don't get me wrong, I like to go to Starbucks on Newbury Street.  But that's not good for days that you don't really feel up to dealing with lots of people or the hustle and bustle.  I just wanted to sit and have a good cup-a-joe and relax.  So I walk into Blue State and it's a long and narrow cafe filled with wooden tables and chairs and BU kids with their laptops, iPods, and books out everywhere.  Just what I wanted.  Quiet.  Productive.  Perfection.
I get my things situated, finish the tea that I had brought with me, and then go and order a cup of soup and a non-fat vanilla latte.  And ohhhh this is one of the places that does amazing foam on top of your latte and they make designs with it!
