Day 58

We've been working on a new project in my printmaking class.  It's like the first one, but we have to use 3 or 4 different colors.  Here's a rough idea of how you do it.
1: Draw your picture and figure out your colors.
2: Take color #1 and roll it onto an uncarved block (Result: a rectangle of one color.)
3: Draw your picture onto the block.
4: Carve everything off of the block that you want to be color #1.
5: Repeat 2-4 for your next 2 or 3 colors.

I know it doesn't seem like much.  But I decided that, while each print is only allowed to have 3 or 4 colors, that doesn't mean that you can only use 3 or 4 of the same colors for each print.  So my drawing is of some flowers and I decided that I was going to do colors for each season.  That means for each time I am ready to print, I have to make 4 different colors.  And clean my block 4 times.  It's time consuming.  But I really like it.
So here's two pictures of my summer print.  The first is of colors #1 and #2.

The second is of colors #1, #2, and #3.
